Post Question about debadging trunk. Is it reversible?

If I take off the A C U R A emblems and the 3.2TL emblem, is there any way I can reattach them for say when I sell the car or something??? DO I have to use a special adhesive, preferably one that would not mar the paint???

Thanks

Nah you can use regular old scotch tape. I think you'd have to buy all new emblems.

You can probably use 3m 2-way tape. It's pretty sticky and it works good.

YES, you can reuse the "A-C-U-R-A" Emblems if you:
1) clean off the original emblems completely using Goof-Off or a similar product.
2) get automotive grade doublestick adhesive, preferably one from 3M. You may need to get it from a body shop, but I am sure it works fine. You'll also have to apply it onto the backs of the letters and then hand cut the shapes out.
Good luck.

it's very thin... I took off my "3.2TL" and had to put it back on due to complications I'd rather not discuss, it will make me cry... Just go to your auto supply store and as for double stick tape, tell them it's for applying an emblem.

Why would you take off the A C U R A Emblem off in the fist place? I think the back would look like it is missing something if you did. Seems like it would be a pain in the a$$ to put them back on correctly. Maybe you can ask that guy who put the V6 emblem on his civic what he used.

I've seen pics of a couple debadged trunk Tl's and they look sweet. Much cleaner looking rear. Check out Tommy's pics, he has a sweet TL.

Is INSPIRE the Japanese version of the TL? Great name! So, is the idea of putting that on the back of the TL that it will make people think you brought the car over from Japan? I don't get it.

I do get a kick out of hearing about guys who want their car to be something its not. Like, all these Honda Accords in L.A. that have clear tail light assemblies...what, do they think it looks like they've got IS300's???

I'm being serious, I really don't know what thats all about.

Dear Newbie,

The reason is because some people like to be different. If you venture out past U.S. borders you will quickly learn that 99.9% of the world's population have no clue WTF an "ACURA" is! The Honda Inspire challenges 530i's on the Autobahn everyday. Even in Australia white collar workers are seen driving Honda Inspires to work daily. The Honda Inspire is a global bad@ss + whenever people approach me they are like "WTF type of car IS that?!?"

yo kid... i told you... 3m tape...
btw, if you ever want it back perfect, take it to acura, pay $50 and let them put it back on...
it's really not a problem...
the only problem is cutting the 3M to fit exactly to the A C U R A ... it takes quit some time...
if you aren't cheap and got cash, go buy it from the acura dealership...
