mine was NOWHERE in my car. don't waste your time. just call acura and be prepared to give proof of ownership and they can look it up on the computer for you. that's what i ended up doing. they will tell you the code is on the back of the radio and they need to pull it out, but mine was NOT on my radio either.
most acura dealers will do it, but i did call a dealer once who tried to tell me they couldnt do it, they wanted the $50 to pull the radio.

He had told me that they would do it for free. Give it a try.

like i said mine was nowhere in the car. talk to the service guys. all they need is your VIN and usually some proof of ownership. they were able to find mine. just beware, like i said one dealer tried to convince me there was no electronic database they could find it in. schmuck.
sometimes there is a serial on the radio that they can get it from. sometimes its on the side of the glovebox, or under the ash tray, or the fuse box lid, or the trunk arm, or the door jam, or under the molding. check all these places, but dont get your hopes up. i searched for hours in the cold, and found nothing. sorry to be so pessimistic. but they should be more willing to help you.

find the original dealer that sold the car. Mostly all certified acura dealers keep the numbers on file.
My tl is 2001 and they still had it on record. =)
I was missing the radio and navi code. So I called acura's customer care number and gave the VIN. They told me which dealership sold to the original buyer. So I called the dealership. The first guy that picked up told me that I need to bring my car in with the ownership papers.
Since the dealership was approximately 100miles away, I decided to call again. A lady just took down my VIN number and got both codes within 10 minutes.
^_^
If they don't have it on file, they'll have to remove the radio to get the serial number. And most places charge approximately 80-100 bucks..

there is no radio code anywhere in the car, you need the serial # from the back from the radio.
There are some sites on the net that will you give the code if you give them the serial.
I paid the dealer 80 bux to get me the serial.

most decent acura dealers should pull your radio and find activation code on the back of the radio for free. if not, beech at them yelling and screaming about how you are being treated unfairly, at that point i am sure that you will get the problem remedied... hehe
