Steering Wheel Wear
I just started noticing that the finish on my steering wheel is wearing off on the top. It must be from all of those one-handed turns I make. Is there a factory-colored finish I can get to keep it from wearing down to the actual leather? I had this problem on my old car and it ended up going straight through the leather to the plastic, don't want to see that happen to my TL. Any help would be appreciated.

Your options are as follows:
1) Swap with a new wheel (wood/leather, or just leather)- increased cost of wheel (about $400 for a wood/ leather wheel, or you might be able to find a leather replacement on eBay) and installation.
2) Steering wheel cover (which I did): www.wheelskins.com (low cost and nice cover-~ $45- all leather)
3) Recoloring the leather- here's a site I found that might help you with your problem: http://www.leathermagic.com/Secure/e...log.asp?prdc=4
They apparently make the factory colors for all vehicle makes.
Good Luck!!

Mine is also wearing out, and I'm also considering the OEM burlwood steering wheeel. It looks pretty nice. (but very pricey tho...)

I wanted the OEM Wood steering wheel too, but decided against it because of the cost (it would be a $600 upgrade because I don't have a wheel puller and was concerned about the airbags - I had a small faded spot that was bothering me, so I put a leather 2 tone wheelskin on. I really like them, so I put them on my other cars as well (MR-2 Spyder and Hyundai Elantra). They are perforated covers (can also be unperforated and come in single or 2 tone) and install really easily- they are stitched on and put over the factory wheel. They run about $45 with the shipping included from the sheepskin outlet. http://www.storesonline.com/site/564545/page/144629

Got my wood wheel from RAY LAKS for $285 shipped w/o installation which only cost me $60 at the dealer.. If you have a black interior I would do carbon fiber trim, titanium stock trim conversion (same as 6mt CL-S), and just the black leather wheel. I have parchment/woodgrain and the wheel sets it off though.
