Hey guys

2 quick Q's:

1. My engine drops below 900 revs sometimes when I'm in park or when I'm at a stop, it sounds as if it's choking, it eventually kicks back up to 900 but for that short time it does make a lower sound and I'd like to know what is making it choke like that.

2. My car is making an odd sound when I turn. It sounds like a transmission sound it's a semi cats tail sound, it is ONLY when I turn and turn rather sharply. Anyone know what could be causing this kind of sound?

In response to number 1, I think you just have some carbon buildup in the combustion chamber. I had a similar problem a while back and I used a bottle of Lucas Fuel System Treatment that cleared it right up. Many people here recommend using SeaFoam treatment. Usually you can find that stuff at parts stores like Kragen or Autozone. As for number 2, I didn't really understand the description of the sound.

 

Engine should idle at 750 so i dont see any thing wrong other than a high idle. That lower sound is probably just the sound the engine is making at that low of a rpm

And what is a transmission sound? What is a semi cats tail sound

 

1. My car idles at 900, I thought that's what it's supposed to idle at? When it drops to 750 for that split second the car vibrates and I can feel it in the foot panel mostly.

2. THe Semi cats tail sounds. It's a high pitched whine type thing but in a lower tone.
