Stay Away From This Warranty Company!!!!
hey guys just want to make sure everyone is safe. I recently bought a used 2003 tl type s. and bought an extended warranty through a third party company called buyers choice! do not purchase them. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! they dont call back. they try and replace with old parts. they suck! i had to get a lawyer involved so they would cover my transmission and rental. they tried to tell me they wouldnt cover my car because my maintenance record has oil changes done at a local mechanic and not an acura dealer. they said i could have faked the receipts. I had to fight with them on that as well and just overall fixing my car. They suck. located in Hanover MA and i plan on writing a letter (which they probably wont read because thats the kind of business they run) just make sure you guys stay away from them. ive purchased warranties from like extracare and they are awsome! had to get a sunroof replaced in my galant a few years back..had the car back in less then 24 hours. for my acura they had to go inspect the car said they were going to do it in 1 day...took them 2 days. took them 2 more days to ask for my maintenace record...3 more days to let me know that its invalid...a few days of fighting about that and they decided to let me know that they would cover about a third of what the dealer quoted. had to fight with them on that. Just overall slow and stupid people. STAY AWAY

God bless certified warranty.
Gotta tell you man, when I got my TL-S last year I got a few of those post cards in the mail that offered me extended warranty, I just throw them away, I dont think any of them are trust worthy.

i just purchased the GE 4 star plus warranty on my 02 tl type s, the only reason i purchased this waranty is that is covers every nut every bolt everything including the parts needed for my schedualed maintenace. it cost me about 1800$ 3yrs/36000 mile warranty whichever comes first. and another good thing is that the dealer accepts this warranty. if you buy an extended warranty make sure that the warranty company pays by credit card so you can go to the dealer. my deductable is only 200$ and the ammount of service has no price limit, it covers labor, parts and a rental car if needed.

The dealer has to accept any warranty extended third party company warranty. They will accept mine but the warranty company wont pay up. My wrranty was 4 years 48k for $1300 with a $100 deductible. The warranty i bought on my galant was a 5year 100k for like $1400 and worht every dime. THey did over 3grand in repairs in the 3+ years i had the car. Not once were they an ass about anything. This company is just horrible.

The only way i buy extended third party company warranties are if they sell them at a reputable dealership....never those postcards i get in the mail.

i had a warranty from www.warrantydirect.com on my old car. only used it like twice. it was not probs at all. the rates are very good at that time. i actually just talked to my guy about my dads car. i dont need one i have CPO. just looked it up, jeffp@warrantydirect.com you can mention Jason from Bronx, NY. he should remember me, he is a cool dude. they have a great reputation, thats what sold me.

I personally had a terrible experience with WarrantyGold. I had purchased 7/100000 on my 98 Cobra Mustang. As I went to sell it, my policy stated I could transfer to a new owner for $50, so I began the process. At that point they informed me that the underwriter for my policy was bankrupt and my policy was worthless. No apology. Just a happy "you are screwed". They then had the stones to offer me a new policy....
I lost $1K on the sale due to lack of this warranty...Thank you Warranty Gold!

the best warranty is no warranty!
The only thing that needed warranty, and now its covered by extended warranty.
Standard OEM warranty is enough, I'd rather take the chance than shell out 1300-1500 for additional 3 years/50K...

....very true....
But this was on a Ford.
My extended warranty on my 2002 Ford Exploder has been worth every penny. Bought it when I bought the car (SleazyCare (Ford EZCARE) B2B coverage for $1600) and so far have gotten 1 differential, 1 axle, 1 transmission, and 1 termostat.
Lesson learned: Ford's ain't so reliable
Now, my '03 TLS isn't covered by the tranny warranty....so we'll see how much I like Acura in about 45K miles....

Plus learning to DIY on your car is priceless in so many ways.

When I bought my tl six months ago, I thought about getting a third party warranty too. But after comparing the rates with that and the dealer's, the difference was only about $500. I also did some research on different forums about third party warranties, and didn't get good respond. I purchased my warranty at an Acura dealership 5 minutes away from my house for about $2000 and for 4yrs/100,000miles. It was lucky for me since I got the tl with 44,000 miles on it and the sales manager told me that Acura would not sell extended warranties if the car has more than 45,000 miles.
The warranty was worth it though, just had my transmission and both CV joints replaced about three weeks ago. During the repair, I got service loaners. Brand new 07 MDX and TSX. Had two cars cause the transmission didn't start acting up until they replaced one of the cv joints, but then I took the car back and they told me the transmission has failed. Dealer warranty is the way to go!

I agree. I looked for a few months for an 02 or 03 type S either blue, black, or silver and a black interior with the burlwood. Could not find it at any acura dealer...i ended up buying an 05 rsx. Had that for 6 months and finally found the car i drive now at used car dealer. Heard good things about them so i bought the car from them and i figured third party company is better then nothing....my car had 57k on it so i wouldnt really be able to get any other warranty.

I bought 4yr / 48k miles GE 4-star plus warranty with $100 deductible and so far have not used them. All I heard about them was good so far but it is little bit of an inconvenience when Dealer has to call them on M-F basis to confirm they approve repairs, etc.
Besides that this warranty covers rental while the car is in the shop being repaired / replacing warranted part... not bad ...
