Question State Inspection and Lowering Springs

Hi guys,
I'm due for inspection next month and wanted to know what to expect if I bring the TL lowered with H&R Sport springs. Will they pass me?

Thanks,
Matt

I've passed my inspection with my springs, intake, headers, and cleared headlights.

Thanks for the replies guys! Anyone from PA have their inspection done with springs installed?
Hopefully I should be OK

Forget the DOT.

The real question is why would anyone want to lower a front wheel drive, family sized 4door sedan? Your real world, overall performance goes down, your comfort goes down, your wallet goes down, your damage probability goes up. Sounds like a lose/lose proposition.

If you want significant handling improvements on a front wheel drive sport sedan — look to tire changes. Beyond that, get a rear drive sports car.

Thanks. Yeah, I'll probably take it to a shop by my work (nice area) and see if they pass me. If not, I'll look for a shop elsewhere.

Martian, thanks for the input but I think I'll keep the springs on til I get me next car (most likely a rear drive) ;-)

Hi guys,
I took my car into the dealer (Davis Acura in Langhorne). First of all, my check engine light came on and they tell me I need a new catalytic converter. Cost of this alone came to approx $875!!! My car is at 84K and the extended warranty for this ends at 80K. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed about this and the service guy said he couldn't do anything to offset the cost.
As for the inspection, I have the Matrix Red/Clear tails and left the clear bulbs in and this doesn't pass. I have to either put in amber bulbs or put on the old orange/red fugly ones.
In addition, he said my fogs would not pass since they are not wired to turn off when the high beams are on.
So I'm pretty pissed now....I had to fork out the loot for the cat conv since I need to get this inspection passed. I'm going to a local shop to get the inspection done and I'll disconnect the fogs from the battery so they don't turn on at all and put on the old tails so I pass.
The dealer didn't say anything about my springs so I'm hoping the local shop will be cool about that too.

INSPECTION BLOWS!!!!!!!! Why can't they just let me be ;-)

Also, does anyone know how to wire the fogs so they turn off with the high beams?

If you really think this, I question whether you have ever driven a properly lowered FWD car...

Whats up Matt...

With the lowering, any shop will do that in PA. As far as DAvis Acura goes, the only reason I go there is \for my scheduled maintanence.

If you remember from coming to the wash, there is an STS right next door. I'm pretty friendly with the manager. Before you spend any more $$, come by any day from Tues. to Sat. before noon and I'll tell him your coming. Can't promise a breakdown on the price but he should be ALOT more lenient.

BTW...how'd you like the wash?? TTYS...

Frank,
Thanks for the info...check your PM.
Your car wash is great! I've become to lazy to do it myself now so I'll drive the 15 miles to get there ;-) With the cold weather moving in, it's even better getting my washes there!

eyesnake02,
in most states you have to get inspection done on the car once a year (check your stickers to see when you're due). i know they check emissions and frigging turn lights and fog lights :-( i'm not sure what their exact checklist is, but maybe someone else knows.
