Take traction control off. Torque-brake it to about 3000 rpm and let your foot off the brake. Then floor it and shift at redline. However be wary when doing this because with the traction control off you may have more than minimal wheelspin. Your goal is minimum wheel spin yet allowing maximum power to wheels. Try it. And remember, practice makes perfect.

Totally agree with the above.... now on another non-TL note... I drove a new maxima for the first time last night, the 255hp one.... holy ****, that thing will get up and go! It was raining, and I was doing about 25, so I floored the car, and the wheels just spinned for a good couple of seconds. It was the base model though, but I liked it. It needs Vehicle Dynamic Control (infiniti's have this), a better stereo, and a better interior (like the TLs!) I was going to take it out last night, because it was my dads loaner car... he has an 00 maxima. But I didn't like it, so I took it back and took out my precious TL!

Or you can also try gate-shifting.

gate shifting is instead of using SS, just move the shifter up through the gate D1-D2-D3-D4 at redline.. i've also heard that just putting the shifter in the gate position at D3 is just as good if not better, due to engine knowing when to shift and shifting faster than the SS does.. any truth to that?
