Standard labor times?
When I had my wife's Altima into a local (non-dealer) shop earlier this year, I wanted them to switch out the lousy halogens for some blue kryptons, and the manager consulted a book that had standard labor timings for basic operations. What I am interested in is trying to get my hands on such a book (or web site with similar content), in order to find out how much time it really should be taking for my dealer or a mechanic to do some basics to my '99 - installing upgraded parts, such as rotors/pads (yeah, start the flames now - I have absolutely zero mechanical inclination when it comes to cars - if it doesn't involve pumping gas into the car, forget it!).
Any sites / sources / insights on where such a book could be found or accessed by a non-industry insider?

well, its 80bux/hour +parts cost, and they take forever cauz they want your money. Either find a good reliable mechanic outside Acura stealership, or its time to become mechanically inclined
peace.
peace.

you could alwys stand there with a stopwatch...but keep in mind that the rates/quotes from the book are "averages," which basically gives them BS leeway to overcharging you for the time cuz "it could have taken that long or longer."
