Maybe it was all the crack I had smoked that day, BUT....I swear one day when I was in SS mode, I was turning at about 15-20mph, and my SS was in 2, but I nailed it, and it dropped down into one for me??? Did I just imagine that or what?

 

Your crack wasn't strong enough..

Cuz it probably really DID happen. I had the same thing happen to me before. And I have tried to duplicate it..

I've been able to do it this way..
Take a sharp corner in SS 2nd, tap the brake quickly which makes it downshift, and then step on the gas, it will hold the gear in first..

Then the car just launches!!

But I wouldn't try this all the time, I don't know what the effects may be..

 

It is normal it will downshift for you

 

happens to me all the time... Another thing that is cool is sometimes I try to go into 2nd (my favorite gear) and it won't let me...it'll blink 2 2 2 2 and stay in third, pretty cool safety feature!

 

heh.. this is normal, and u dont need to be smoking crack or taking corners, as long as ur in low enough rpms in 2nd, and floor it, it will downshift to 1st. but if ur already at 5k rpm, it wont downshift, cuz it'll bring u right into red.

 

It only does this automatic downshift thing on hard acceleration between 1 and 2 only. Otherwise it will hold the gear you are in unless your speed is too slow for the indicated gear.
