Random no-starts

So, I have a question..... My 99 TL didn't start a couple of times a few months ago and it took banging on the fuel tank/pump to get it going at the time...

I bought and replaced the fuel pump myself and had not had a problem with it until today. I left my car downtown overnight and this morning it wouldn't start It turned over fine, and the electrical stuff all worked, but it just wouldn't start...

I finally decided to start rapping on things under the car starting with the fuel tank/pump and low and behold it started again...

I seafoamed the fuel tank on the previous quarter tank, so my question is this: does it look like my pump is going again or was not installed correctly, or is there something else that could cause this seemingly random engine failure (gunk from seafoaming) that is also alleviated by rapping on the fuel tank/pump...

God I hope so...

bad tanks of gas. seen it happen before on customers cars. took the old fuel out and filled it with new gas and started right yup. but it could also be a bad pump
