I personally feel like ss is weaker than automatic specially auto at 3rd. SS 3rd is like dead. takes 4eva to get up high RPM but if i use auto3rd the rpm goes right up to 5000+rpm. Is it just my car or any1 experienced this too?? I have 99TL.

 

There is only 1 3rd gear in your car, regardless of in SS or auto mode which only changes the way the car shifts.

 

I always drive in SS regardless of what others say. So, I'm not sure what the difference is.. or if there is any difference. I know it's a little bit more fun. ...though not as much as if it were stick.

After a few drives in a few 99 TL's it seemed that it took forever in any gear. 3rd is the same gear no matter what, if you go into 3rd early and floor it, well, the tranny doesn't downshift so say hello to forever, drop it down to second so the engine can get into its powerband. :sqnteek:

 

yea, i think your rite cuz when using the SS it feels like it lags compared to the Auto but i dont know.. maybe its just me

 

It doesnt sound like you shoud use SS.
