Check the "DIY" sticky for info on resetting the SRS light.

look just above where this posting is on the thread list- NEW OFFICIAL DIY blahblah
that has 2 threads- with each type area broken down, brakes, SRS etc
what happened is you didn't unplug battery neg before touching the seat plugs=
tripped the srs
reset is simple, involves a paper clip iirc but its in the diys
if light ever comes on and you have not just been doing electrical there may be an actual fault in system,
In that case reset and watch- if it comes back see thread on OPDS
do you have an owner book? www.owners.acura.com will download one free and register with acura care 1 800 382 2238x5 Need cars vin for both
ask human at x5 if all recalls are done
a few recent ones (airbag inflator) have gone unfixed by many owners

Try the "SRS" reset procedure in the "DIY" sticky.

if you are part of the VINs under RECALL for airbag issues, then make an immediate appointment with the dealer for that- its a big deal !!
Do the reset procedure per our diy- see if light comes back on
Low voltage at batt, unplugging srs wires with batt connected etc will trigger a false code
Anything like that happen?
Have you stopped by a parts store for a free code reading?

Do the reset procedure first, before ya go to the dealership for the recall.
The "SRS" codes require a special reader, which the local auto parts stores don't commonly have.

FYI jumpering pin 9 & 4 (Havener Garage: Diagnosing Check Engine Light Issues) on the OBDII port then turning the car on while cause the SRS light to flash the DTC (along with the CEL, transmission, etc).
I posted the codes for the '02-03 in another thread, but they are all in the factory service manual (a link to the PDF is posted somewhere on the forum).

definitely do the reset procedure and ck results BEFORE going in for recall
Show up with the SRS light on, and its 150$ to diagnose that= before they will do the recall!
I forgot it takes special reader for srs codes, but still worth asking parts store to scan codes- you never know what info is hiding in the big black brain box!
