SRS light

While driving the other day my SRS light went on and has stayed on since. Is this something I need to take to the dealer to diag/ fix? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that there might be a recall or warranty ext for SRS issues. FYI vehicle has not been in accident (at least non were reported via carfax before I bought it from 1st owner). Thanks in advance for the advice.

Since it came on and you were not the cause (like you took your seats out or something) I recommend you take it to the dealer as soon as you can.

thats it- if you did any electrical work and then it came on--reset and see

if you did no work and it came on- there is a problem

no spills of soda or other fluids on seat or in car?

10year/150kmiles srs special extended warranty
call dealer for appt, and dont require the airbags~
SRS light ON= airbags turned OFF

dealer can run your VIN and tell if covered, or look in our list in the diy section
or call acura care 1 800 382 2238x5 ask if any OPEN recalls.. and extended warranties
ie: trans, seatbelts, srs

No I'm pretty sure nothing was spilled and I did no electrical work. I ran my VIN on the website and all it said was the trans recall was "repaired" and the new airbag recall is still open. Did not say anything about warranty ext's. Are they not shown there? Would it be worth resetting? I used to work at a VW dealer (I know way different vehicles) and low voltage would set off weird things like airbag lights. If I reset the system and the light stays off would that mean the airbags may still not be functional or only if it went back on?

Do you have low voltage? tested battery and alt condition? parts stores do it for free

the website does not show the extended warranties.
have to call the 800 and have them look it up in the special warranty book

Trans recall `fixed` only means oil jet kit was installed,,but it wont show if entire trans was replaced later!

Airbag inflator recall OPEN means get your car in there quick! its not fixed yet!!
something about the speed of deployment being too high, they swap a part- not the bag

there is a problem with a few of the SRS parts-sensors,
Per service managers on here: there is 99.9% chance its covered by the warranty
1 part out of 6 not covered but that 1 is a rare failure
there is a reason the warranty got extended so far,,,probably not by acuras choice~

call and make appt, or go see the service manager and ask when they want it-
versus the phone girl who only cares about filling the spots in the book,
not about which tech does these jobs and is available.
Some days are better than others
