Arrow SRS Light On

My 99 SRS light is on.

The dealer cleared it but it came back on 2 days later. Doesn't this mean I don't have airbags? How can I fix????

you can try and clear it again, but I am sure there is a sensor issue. Depending on the issue, some SRS issues(common ones) are under a 150k warranty. You can clear it your self easily by following the instructions below:

Hello twiskus.

My car has 181 thousand miles, so the warranty does not cover my issue?

What sensor needs to be replaced?

call Acura 1-800-382-2238 x5 with your vin and ask if srs extended warranty coverage applies to you
and register on http://owners.acura.com/registration...erstepone.aspx
you can look up recall section there

Most gen2 have a special 10 year /150,000 miles srs warranty
If the red light came on after you were doing ANY work on the wiring of the car- do a reset-
If it comes back on take it to the dealer and tell them you already did a reset
There are 5 of 6 parts in the system covered by the warranty- service manager says 99.99% chance its covered part thats bad

If you have not touched the car and the red SRS light came on and stayed on- call dealer for appointment asap- you have NO airbags while light on

a good thing to do is scroll down the thread title list- chances are whatever you need is already in the system- your answer may/should be there - check before starting new threads for the 500th time on a subject
the Search engine is another place to try

the dealer can tell which part it needs and you can install it or have them do it
you are past the 150 limit- but acura is known for `Goodwill warranty extensions` where they pay the part and you the labor
especially on a safety issue like the airbags

01tl44tl, I am sorry if I offended you. I searched this web site but could not find definite results on what part needs to be replaced. It seems it is advised to reset the light, but no one replaces any parts.

Im not offended - just trying to introduce a new member to the search engine-

Parts list: thats because no one knows which parts are needed- its always been a waranty issue!

the dealer has to diagnose the system and then order the the correct part
Like I said, there are approx 6 parts that can cause the srs light, and 5- the most common to fail.. are covered

If you played with any electrical reset it first
If not any work done on the car- just light appeared... call dealer
Service MANAGER calls corp to get `goodwill warranty` if needed (over limits) or simply orders the parts and gives a loaner (age requirements apply) and calls you when they are in- about 4-5 days in most cases

Do NOT cover the warning light with tape- work with acura to restore the airbag system!
