the maint required light is usually on a timer, and would be unrelated...

as for srs, ive never messed with it yet, but i think you need to disconnect the battery for like 10 mins or something before messing with the connections... then just check all the connections ?

Well, I did a search on "da" SRS and found about 200 matches within the last 6 months.

Look in your owners manual or search the board for the maintenance required light. It's a very serious problem..people's oil pans have fallen out of the engine from a bad jonski switch. In rare cases, the maint required light means an overweight passenger has damaged your springs and they need to be replaced.

SRS= Supplemental Restraint System (airbags)

Just trying to figure out how you decided it was for the brakes..... SRS= Stop, Reverse, Stop? Stopping Review System? j/k Sorry, just had to be a smart ass for a minute. Now to help.

Something is going on with your airbags,as pure said in the other thread, when the SRS light is lit, the bags may not deploy. So it would be best to get it checked out so that you have some protection in case of an accident.

I have a 03 and in the owners manual on page 50 there is a section on what that light indicates.

you have two choices;

1. reset the light yourself; but you won't find out what set it the first place.

or

2. get the light reset by the dealer, know what's wrong, but pay about 100$...

Trip to the dealer to know whats wrong........$100
Trip to the hospital to heal your broken body...... 1000's
a trip to the morge.......

Your choice

An accidental deployment while messing with the SRS system is also a VERY expensive charge too, but if the dealer deploys it, they pay. Paying the dealer a few bucks is well worth the expense in my mind.

SRS has nothing to do with the brakes. Neither does the Maintenance Required light.

The MR light goes off based on the mileage to inform you that you're due for schedule maintenance service. The SRS light... who knows what set it off in the first place? But get it checked out as soon as possible.
