When I drive for a while my car seems fine, runs strong and smooth. After I drive for about an hour and slow down to 25mph and less I start to hear this spinning sound and it gets slower and slower as my car slows down. Then when I am coming to a stop I here this squeeking metalic noise. It's noticeable enough to clearly hear when my windowa are shut and music is down. I have headers and had them retorqued(but this shop was awful). What do you think is wrong?

 

where is it coming from would be the first question to ask you? front rear left right? try to figure that out first

hum left front. do you hear it when not moving?

 

when your car is parked try to push down on the corner you are hearing the noise from, and get it going up and down and see if you hear the noise. I had something very similar to this a while back and it ended up being something wrong with the ball joint.

 

I got the same problem. It has been occurred over a month. At first, most of the time it occurred when the weather is warm (around 70-90) and when I apply half-way brake. But couple days ago, It happens all the time when I apply half-way brake. If I push the brake really hard, then I don't hear it at all, until when it comes to complete stop then I hear a squeaking metallic noise. Before I tried to resurface a week old OEM front rotors but the problem occurs again after a rainy day. So, now I don't know if it is OEM rotors, OEM pads, or ball joint. Anybody has any idea?

I will try to get EBC GreenStuff brake pads tomorrow to see if it's fixed. Yes, when I park my car and try to push down on the corner which makes the noise, I hear a little noise. By the way, when I am braking at about 45mph, I don't feel vibration on the wheel but I can feel the click click click noise on the steering wheel and brake pedal.

By the way, if it were the ball joint, does it cover under manufacture warranty?

does it make sense that it only happens after i drive for an extended period of time. it never happens when i get in the car and drive short distances or even 30mins. only 45+mins

 

it also happens after I stop and then start to speed up that spinning squeeking noise gets faster and faster until it goes away when I hit about 30-35mph. It seems heat related because in the morning when it cooler here 35degrees, it doesnt do it. When I am coming home and its 50-55degrees it does it. Would this be a ball joint issue?
