Squeak Noise from Moonroof

I've had the dealer install that rubber edge. However, each time my car hits a pot hole or roughness in the road, the car makes a squeak sound from the moonroof. Is there anything that can be done about this?

That rubber edges does nothing.

I've never heard of the rubber edge? I've had a TSB performed on my sunroof for squeaks but it didn't work. I just keep the cover slid closed unless I open the roof.

There's a TSB on the squeaky moonroof... The fix is to install teflon tape around the inside edge of the moonroof.. I am assuming this is what the OP means by "rubber edges"...

I had the TSB applied and haven't heard a squeak since...

What position is the moonroof in when the squeak occurs? Tilted, slid open or closed?

I have a squeak in mine when opened in the tilt position. Does the TSB apply here?

It squeaks while closed. The rubber edge is actually a long piece of rubber which over hangs a bit on the closing edge of the moonroof. I'll bring it back to Acura for fix, but my 3yr waranty is over. Would it still be under waranty?

Squeal

My dealer did the same fix with the tape. So far so good, the car is all, and more than I wanted.

But the rubber isnt the fix. its a teflon tape added to the body where the rubber meets. it keeps it from squeeking. I simply add 303 protectant to teh rubber every 6 months to keep it soft and so that it dosent dry out and havent had the squeek since (plus the 303 works great on the dash and doors)

I had the 'tape' fix...I'll look into the 303. I'm afraid to use any product on rubber...for fear of dissolving it.

It wont disolve rubber. Its designed to keep it soft and moist, So that it doesnt dry out and mecome usless. Its the same principle as leather conditioner. Without it your seats will dry out and crack!
