I also had a question about this.. And also I was wondering are you suppose to take your foot off the gas while shifting up or down?

No worries, have fun. The computer will save you from damage. All the SS does is tell the car when to shift instead of it relying on the computer, but the 'puter will still step in to "help" out.

You don't need to let off the gas when you shift and don't need to down shift. The car will be in 1st when you stop. I've been using SS for 22 months like that - no probs.

One thing to keep in mind is that the fuel shuts off to the engine around 5700 RPM. If you exceed redline in that range, the car will exhibit the following sequence: rev, rev, upshift. It does this automatcally if you exceed redline and forget to upshift. If you try to downshift into a gear that won't handle the speed you are traveling, the display will blink when you try to downshift. Have fun.
