I know that this have been ask before ... but I forgot about it

So here's the question

Once you are in sport mode, you don't have to shift yourself right ?? I mean once you reach redline in any gear it will upshift for you right ??

I am asking this because i try it and when i was in SS in second gear and it was redline and it still did not upshift to 3rd, I have to do it myself...

Am i wrong to think it will upshift by itself ???

 

When you are in SS, it will only upshift from 1-2 automatically. After that, you're on your own. However, it will downshift to 1 when you stop.

 

Try reading your owners manual. It tells you all you need to know about the SS mode.

Yep your on your own after 2nd gear 3rd to 5th you work it.
Like said before you don't have to down shift when you come to a stop.

I never actually did it, but I believe that if you run the car in redline in SS mode, eventually the computer will upshift you if you are revving constantly in redline to avoid blowing the engine.
8ball, what you said is only for '00+ TL's...the '99's we can run the car and it holds in 1st gear until you shift...you have total control of every gear.
