speed for airbags?
Is there a certain speed that you need to be going for the airbags to come out when you get into an accident. My brother got in accident today with my car, he hit some guy and the airbags didn't go off? He was only going about 30mph and then slammed the brakes, not sure exactly how fast he was going when he hit the guy. Anyone know what the airbags might have no gone off? does there have to be a certain speed?

Three Wheelin'
There has to be enough force to trigger them. If your brother is OK that is great and to replace the airbags plus fix the outside of the car would be very expensive.

Airbags go off by the amount of impact not speed. Well atleast for honda/acura.... Back in the day with the recalls on the 97?96? accord SRS units... some idiot tech had the key on with the radio playing, while using an impact gun removing the control unit.... Boy was that a LOUD BANG! blew out both bags, cracked the winshield, and the dashboard cracked..... OOPS ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
