Question A-Spec vs Jetta Wolfsberg

Hey my friend just bought a 2003 Jetta Wolfsberg turbo..he says he can beat me of the line ...I know he has 180hp turbo ...i took it out for a rip and it is very quick for a Jetta..i know the Type s 0-60 is around 6sec. and 1/4 mile around 14. (are these #'s accurate has anyone been quicker?) ...my friend knows i would eventually pull away ...but would he really beat me off the line?? ....i don't have any numbers for his car ...just curious has anyone gone head to head with one???:argue:

He could only beat you if he is chipped at 1.0 bar or higher and even then I'm not sure.

Should beat him either way...Always leave your VSA off unless it is raining or you're rolling on steel rather than rubber...

TL-S's will have a tough time getting 14.0 flat, more like high 14's for us auto TL-S' but CL-S 6 speed in the hands of a competent driver can get around 14.1 with a trap speed of 95-96mph.

word! No way a TLS gets a 14...more like a high-14. I would think that a Golf 337 would be faster than a Jetta and stock the 337 will lose to the TLS.

R10, I raced a friend back home in Atl this weekend that has an A4 setup exactly like mine. I was in the the TLS. We did a ~60- 95 mph roll on. I was at like 5500 when we started, well into the powerband. For the first few seconds in 2nd gear, he only pulled about a car. Once the TL hit 3rd, it was all over By the time we hit 90, he was about 5 car lengths ahead and pulling harder the faster we went.

Fun race....can't wait to see you up here

Oh yeah, I was gate-shifting and didn't fall out of VTEC in the 2nd -> 3rd shift.

A4, you need headers and icebox on the TLS! Thats not fair! Although even those mods would only make the beating a little less...maybe a car or two less. headers and icebox definitely help up top.

Try convincing my mom about that. She's quite happy with the car and I'm pretty sure the extra noise would just piss her off
