Speaker Problem
Speaker Problem
So this is wierd.... my front passenger door speaker does not work when the window is down all the way, but if I put it almost all the way down, say, with an inch or two of glass still to go, it works. I'm guessing its a loose wire, but could it be something else? I hate the thought of taking apart the door panel to find out, because I think I read somewhere that it was like 27 steps, and I definately do NOT want to create any more rattles or squeaks. What do you guys think?
Oh... an off topic, what was the squeaky seat belt recepticle fix? Was it spraying WD40 into the recepticlel where you "plug" in the seatbelt?
Thanks a bunch!

Are the speakers still the OEM Bose ones? I can't see how the window would "accidentally" catch the wires, considering the speaker is in an adapter dish thing. Taking the door panel off is easy, like mentioned above, just take it off and see what's going on.
PS I hear you and Noel got along well. To keep this from going OT, send me a PM if you intend to reply to THIS part of the message.

Yeah I dont know what the hells wrong with it. I guess since the next 5 days are gonna be nice and sunny out it will be a good time to work on the car. I'll prolly take apart the door panel and see whats going on. Whatever it is, its really gettin on my nerves!!!!
Okie dokie... so I ripped the door panel off, and fixed the problem. Apparently the speaker had been tampered with before, because the white plastic around the back of the speaker appeared to have been cut, and then the wires were just twisted together. I ended up re-cutting the wires to get a better connection, and taped the hell out of them. I wonder if the previous owner may have had another sound system?
I also completely broke that damn triangle black plastic piece by the side mirror. DAMN!!!! It only has like one clip that holds it in place. Oh well, I'll just get another one of these days.
