Just i heads up i lost my spare key, went to the dealer got 1 made 60 bux. Its so hight because of a built in chip to make it start. BTW 99 tl 94k

 

yeah, that sounds about right.
you should hear how much it costs for replacement BMW/merc keys... goodness. those keys have a chip + built in lock/unlock/trunk buttons on the handle of the key so its like... 250+ ? i forgot. my sister told me she was going to get another just in case but after hearing the price she was like FORGET IT!

 

ewww... yea... I never thought about how much a BMW key would cost... everything with those cars are so damn expensive. eesh... 60 bucks doesn't seem so bad to me now!

 

Yeah the those spare keys are damn expensive. You can get a spare key w/o the chip made at lowels. It's like 7 dollars. With this key you can unlock and lock the doors (as long as you used the master key to copy and not the valet key) You just can't start the car. I made a unchipped spare one incase I ever lock my keys in the car (You never know).

 

hzm82 - that's a good idea, I accidentally locked my keys in the car (in the trunk) and acura roadside assistance got them out for me. So embarrasing - I was out of state at a family member's house.

 

I don't know about you guys, but my CLS came with 2 chipped keys, 2 fobs and 1 valet key (unchipped). I guess that isn't normal?

 

That's normal. I have the same. I was just out of state when I was locked out.
