something wrong with driver side door lock. plz help

hello i have a problem with my driver side door lock. i have to use my key to unlock the driver side door, after that i am able to use my remote to unlock the other doors. When i use my remote to lock the doors all the doors lock except the drivers side; but if i press down on the driver side lock then all the other doors lock. any suggestions would be helpful, thank you.

Sounds like something that is intermittently to my 99TL the last couple of weeks. Dealer says need new actuator. Holding off since dealer is asking $200+.

Do you notice any extra effort in locking it with the key or when pushing down on the lock post?

That happened to my passenger door.
Needed extra force to push it down to keep it locked.
When I would unlock the doors the passenger door would sound like a springy sound really loud. Then after a while it just wouldn't lock anymore with the key fob or pushing down.

Had the actuator replaced and fixed the problem
Guess its a common wear and tear item with age.

A lot of times its the lock itself. It gets rusty and stops moving. Happened to me. Had to take the lock mechanism out and soak it in penetrating oil and work it. Came loose and every thing works great. Seen a bunch of members have had the same issue.

Thanks for ur replies, the driver side doesn't need extra force to lock, but sometimes the key fob works and at times it doesn't. I'm not looking to spend 200+ on an actuator.

Yea the door lock actuator is pretty common in a few acuras, the part is fairly cheap around $30 I think. If you have a 10mm + ratchet, couple screwdrivers and a clip remover, you can get the job done
