Soliciting Advice

Hi all. I just leased a 2002 TL-S w/o navi and am looking for advice. I used to own a '95 GS-R to which I added Eibach springs, RS Akimoto Intake, DC Sports Header and Stromung Exhaust along with new amps/speakers and Pirelli P-Zeros (they only lasted about 7,000 mi !!!).

I assume I will be adding CAI (from AEM? or Injen?), springs if the dealer doesn't freak (Eibach of some sort?), sway bars (no idea what kind yet), and I'm still researching what these 6000K D2S lights are... I think I saw that headers are in the $1,000 range? That seems like quite a bit, but as always, the performance increase per dollar will dictate.

It seems that CAI should be first, but what do you all think?

Thanks,

Tad

CAI is a natural choice for first mod if you want to increase HP and for little money. I view mods in three categories:

1. HP
2. Ride/suspension
3. Cosmetic

However, when you lease a car, the dealership/manufacturer/not you owns the car. I doubt they would let you mod the car, since their main goal is to resell the vehicle after your lease as a Certified Pre-Owned Acura. They tend to look at mods as something that may potentially harm the car. Wrong or right.

Yeah, I assume that the dealer would want the car back to factory condition (though I haven't verified this). I can still mod within reason (likely no supercharger ) as long as I keep the original parts to put back on... then maybe I could auction off the performance parts I had to someone who needs them for cheap.

Any advice on CAI ? AEM of Injen? I don't have any experience with either. Cost/performance difference?

Thanks again!

Here's a good topic on the Injen vs. AEM:
http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...ighlight=Injen

It actually was the one I used to help make my decision. That and the blue of the Injen matched my car better

Oh and.....Welcome aboard!!
