So call me crazy.... Auto for Auto swap....

5th and reverse are toast in my 03 TL-S, found an 01 CL-S wrecked with a good engine and tranny, any issues with transplanting the trans i should be aware of? Also any parts, gaskets, etc. that i should buy in advance? Gonna be a LONG day. (And night)

Don't waste your time, get a 06-07 accord transmission. They last alot longer.

believe me if i wasn't getting this thing at a huge steal as well as gonna end up making a little money and super short on time cash as well as about to start a new job i'd love to. The wrecked CL still drives and shifts really damn good still actually, but i'm no stranger to this, this is my second 03 tls and 3rd issue with the trans, if something like this with an accord had fallen in my lap like this did just in time i'd be all for it. Like i said i know i'll end up regretting this but it's what i gotta do for now... Hey, this is better luck than i've been having haha.

I wasnt thinking of the word "crazy" after I read this thread.

First of all, this is a transmission that more or less had a national recall and even all the "revised" replacements STILL have the same problems. Stop and take a little time to do some research on what transmissions are compatible with your car and opt for replacing it with one of those instead. You will much more statisfied (long and short term) that you did.

And believe me, i agree with you guys 110%. I'm talking a time frame of has to be, HAS TO BE done tomorrow night or no job, only car i have and am lucky i can even buy this which is MUCH cheaper than even just the accord trans. If it wasn't for a 1 yr old depending on a VERY good job with Sony i'd risk it. I'm not happy about any of this, and also as i said, i'm sure i'll regret it 2 weeks from now if that but better then than my first day. Know what i mean? So anything i should know about going from that car to mine would be greatly appreciated as this POS going out couldn't have come at a worse time as it is.

Thanks guys... (and gals

Ok so as far as i know this is the same exact engine and transmission..... So... Direct swap right???? Wiring, Sensors and all, down to the last bolt? Yes? No? Just kinda feel like because i'm doing something that most would consider pretty dumb (Understandably with due cause) because of a very unique set of circumstances that i can't get a simple yes or no? Little help folks? Please?

I'm pretty sure it's a direct drop in. It's coming off the same motor so the fit will be direct and unless the CL has features or systems the TL doesn't it should have all sensors on there u need. As far as gaskets I can't tell you about that but I don't think there should be any. Hope all goes well with the job. Also I don't think the lack of replies is due to people dot agree with the job you're doing and is more because this is still a new thread people haven't seen yet. I understand you feel rushed to get it in but give some time for the real pros to come read this an chime in.

I'd replace the rear crank seal on the engine, and both axles on the trans. If you're not confident in your ability to correctly install these, get help. Good luck!

Sorry i sounded rushed folks! Kinda had 97986 things going on at once so seemed longer i guess..... only difference is mine is navi cl is not but from looking at both i think we're gravy, goin to pick up the car now by this time tomorrow we should be done.... forget i said that. i dont assume anything with a trans from this car lol Thanks a million guys, i'm no certified mechanic but i've done two on my own tl's and 3 mt swaps on friends (who have that kinda extra cash or just no kids haha) so between me and a helper and a late nighter i'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. And don't forget anyone needs anything off it send me a message, but guess i could post that in a cl forum huh.... yes i have add issues. Thanks again!

I'd buy that engine if I lived closer.
