Snook....my wife owns an Odyssey and so every so often I check out honda-odyssey.com. It seems that HONDA is assuming their domain as of 7/24/2001 and has requested certain pics and the like removed....

You haven't heard from Honda/Acura have you????

Nope, looks like they were given cease and desist orders for "cybersquatting". What a load of bull. I seriously don't understand companies that attack enthusiast groups.

Here's the quote from the Oddy board:

"Ok, it looks like Honda wants us gone.

They don't like the domain name, meta tags, or even the use images of the vehicle on the site.

They want me to turn over the domain name to them no later than 7/24/01.

So, we have until July 24th to figure out what we'd like to do with the site."

I think Honda is forgetting where their loyalty is coming from. If not for these boards, there would be a little less interest in their vehicles (mabe not a lot, but definitly a little). Every sale adds to the bottom line!

 

I know that if it weren't for this forum, I would likely be waiting for my '01 Passat instead of an '02 TL-S. It has influenced my decision heavily.

It's very disappointing.

I'll add that this board influenced my decision to buy a TL tremendously, and Acura would be stupid to try to eliminate this free advertising.
