Hey Guys,

I just swicthed out my old tails for the 02-03 OEM ones. I didnt notice my small problem until after I was done. The left outside red brake light on my left tail does not stay lit when the lighst are on, when the doors are unlocked, but it DOES come on when I apply the brake. Is this a bulb issue, a fuse, a loose connection, or is it somethign else? I just want to check before I go back in there this weekend.

I would check the bulb. I think they have 2 filaments in them.. one might be blown.

 

I agree. Either the bulb is loose, or more likley, the filament is broken

 

sounds like you put a single filament bulb where you need a doubel

 

Same problem happened to me. You need to make sure that the bulbs are DUAL FILAMENT bulbs. Not single. 1 filament stays lit, the other lights up on brakeing.

 

how much did u get ur oem tail light for and where........

 

I got the left of craigslist in San Jose for $25 (had sister pick up) since I was heading out there a few weeks after, and the right one was off ebay for $40 with shipping.

I searched hard and got lucky with a great deal, $60 total for the both. They are both in excellent shape also.

I guess 1 of the filamnets is broken since I did not change out the bulbs when I swapped
