Why Me? I have no idea what number I am, but I can say that I am part of this crappy group. Thanks to those tying to do something about this. We buy a luxury car and get basic quality!

Re: Computy shoots
The last time I had my 01 TL in they told me the Trannies were failing because the third gear clutch packs were not getting enough oil. I really don't care if it's the computers or the clutch packs. I paid a lot of money for this car so I wouldn't have to worry about defects like this. I will drive it for 30,000 more miles and then look to get rid of it before the 100,000 warranty is up. I might have to go back to the Infinity, they are nice cars that seem to run great.

99 TL transmission
Acura just replaced my transmission at 157,000 miles. I had to pay $664 to have it installed. Beats the hell out of $4,400.00. They also told me that if there is a recall for TL transmissions with unlimited miles that they would reimburse the $664.00. Good luck to all.

Please sign the frickin Petition....
There is something here that I don't understand, why have 17,000 people viewed this page and only 2,300 actually signed the petition???? It only takes a minute, you can vent on Acura and feel better and it is free...10,000 names on a petition would be a powerful tool to get the trannys fixed.

For me its too late. I recently traded in my 2001 CL Type S for an Infiniti.
My CLS was my second Acura, my first being an Integra which I loved (and sometimes wished I still had).
It was a few reasons: the unknown tranny, the factory CL body kit that was never made, the rotors that warped every 9k miles and the pain it was to get the dealer to resurface them, the cancelation of the CL line, and the extremely low resale/trade-in value. Sad to say, that was my last Acura.

It is incredible to read the posts on the forum and the angry comments on the petition. There are many people with multiple transmission failures and there is still no fix in sight.
2-3% failure rate?? Bullshit!!
I am reading posts from people that have the tranny recall done and their transmissions seem to fail at about the same rate as the non modified trannys. Every single person that owns a second generation car has lost a significant amount of money as the result off horrible resale value of these defective automobiles (can you tell that I'm pissed off huh?)
Acura/Honda has screwed all of us and is getting away with it.....
The petition is one of the strongest weapons we have to get help with this problem so...PLEASE SIGN THE FRIGGING PETITION..

According to Honda customer relations that I spoke to, the recall covers only one problem, and that of course applies to every single transmission.
The other problem is torque converter; according to them they received those in batches so not every single one is bad. They changed the specs in the mean time for converter and they are putting a new one in only those transmissions that have a failed one. That is why, according to them, some people have more then one trans replaced. But ultimately they have a fix. Now, of course the question remains how true is this?

#2473 Here.
I'm taking my 2000 tl to Scarsdale Acura, NY tomorrow morning. Just got the car from a non-Acura dealer. I told them about the 2nd gear & they made the appointment for me. I didn't want to make a big fuss about it and told them that this car is a "Lemon" because I like, luv, (well u know) the car (plus I've already spent 1800 on accessories)
