Unhappy I Have A Sick One Too

Guys--

Brought my '02 TL-S for a 15K mile checkup (14,250 actual). I told service I was having some hesitation, nothing major and asked them to check it out.
They said the tranny was bad and ordered a new one. I'm waiting for it (4-7 days). Then they said the car would be in the shop a day or two. The service people said if I had any problem driving the car, they'd arrange for a rental.

I know it's early in the game but I have no problems whatsoever with the way Acura is handing this.
(Dealer is Acura of Ocean in NJ.)

807 and on my second transmission - I will never buy another acura car again, and I have owned an Integra and Legend prior to this.....too much to worry about, and I'd rather take my chances with some other auto maker

M3 is coming next!

We won. I received my "get out of tranny free" coupon from Acura a couple of months ago. Didn't you?

I truely want to thank everyone here for fighting the good fight and making this problem known to American Honda. Now, if ANYTHING happens to my transmisson, I get a new one for free, no questions asked. It's like 7 year / 100K miles.

Thanks again Acura-TL.com

FYI... I'm looking at buying at 2003 A-spec. I had read about the tranny stuff so I asked the dealer about it. He told me that the tranny would have a 7 year/ 120 K (or was it 160K) warranty. This is in Canada, so I don't know if it's the same in the US.

Well... I thought I was special.... calmy driving my TLS through life thinking that the tranny problem would never happen to me.... WRONG!!!

Here is the death certificate: 2002 TL TypeS 22,354 miles purchased in 09/01.

Oh well... the dealership (Pohanka) was great in taking care of the problem. i just wish there wasn't a problem in the first place. I don't know about there rest of you guys, but I don't think I'll be getting another Acura TL-S, for many different reasons....

Signed that petition as number 976, I just got my 03 TL-S. Built in March 2003. Hope it won't have the same probs other owners are having. If I do experience tranny failure I will be demanding they extend my tranny warranty to 7y/100k.

Number 1007 on the list . I hope this resolve this issue with the Tranny. I know that my local dealer has great customer Service. I just bought my 2003 TL Type S last week . I'm crossing my fingers , that my tranny will last .

Even if I wasn't covered under warranty until 100k miles, I think it would be cheaper to buy a new tranny rather than take the resale hit.
