Question Sidemarker install

I got quoted $100 to install a 745 sidemarker. Remind you that this is JUST for install. I have the part and the guy said that it would take 2 hours to install plus prime, paint, etc. How much did other ppl pay?

TLlikeWHOA, what did they do about rust issues? $40 sounds good, if it's that cheap then I'll go there as well.

I bought and installed my sidemarkers for ~ $120. It's been over 2.5 years ago and so far so good.

Here's a pic:

All they need to do is drill a hole, use a nibbler to make the corresponding shape/size of the side maker...sand the edges down, use some touch up paint to cover the edges so it won't rust. there is no need to prime or repaint the area. In So. Cal. usually $30-50

Those are not JDM sidemarkers. They are european sidemarkers. I bought them at a local performance shop. I will try to find the link for you.

Silver, instead of driving down here, goto the place Evo got it done at. Basically what they do is, they take the side marker, and they trace the pattern on a piece of cardboard and they cut the shape out. Then they draw a light pattern on the car and they drill a hole and nibble on it....they will do this several times to make sure it fit perfectly.

Some sidemarkers are easier then others. Most universal sidemarkers have a round base...so they only need to drill a little hole. I have the BMW 3 Series side markers and the shape is an uneven rectangle...the problem with the ones i have is there is VERY little room to make a mistake. I only have about 2-3 mm work with...anything more than that the hole will be bigger than the sidemarker.
