Question Side effects of lowering a car?

Besides messing up the alignment and scratching the body kits, what are other side effects from lowering a car? If you have lowered your car, how did you lowered it (what products did you use) and what are some of the problems you have encountered (if any)?

I have TEIN SS's. Besides scratching the body kit, I had a little rubbing issue with the aftermarket wheels/tires. That was taken care of with a little dremel.

Springs used: Comptech
side effects: No more 4 x 4 factory look and better handling.
Problems: Creeking noise from driver front wheel well which was resolved by spraying some Tri-flow.

side effects = chance of your wheels looking like ... / \ .... leading to purchasing a camber kit

at least that's what happened to me. I just got my camber kit installed this weekend and my car is back to factory specs. i'm happy again.

Cons
.. you're limited to where you can take your car.
.. going up a steep slope is no problem but coming down it is.
.. your bound to bottom-out sometime.
.. your Apex'i WS exhaust hangs lower than other exhausts..so they might get scratched up a bit.
.. negative camber.
.. blown shocks.

Pros
.. better handling.
.. no more 4x4 look.

I wanna get the H&R OE Sport... would they also result in the same cons?

Had an eibach prokit, my bro took em off and sold em, i jus ordered H&R sports today

Eibachs
- very aggressive look, loved it
- shreaded the under part of my bumper cuz there are some driveways u just cant escape (prokit lowers more than comptechs and H&R)
- other than the shreading of my bumper, no problems

i kno lowering will wear out ur shocks qucker

Way stiffer ride.. If you think things rattle now, just wait until you lower your ride..

Never had any good luck with lowering my ride.

The OE's shouldn't affect your ride too much since it gives a subtle drop. Just be careful when driving down slopes..and watch hitting huge bumps as adding aftermartket springs on stock shocks will make your car a bit bouncy..which could cause even the OE's too bottom out.

I got H&R Sport Springs installed. 1.5 inch drop. It does everything better and feels like a GO Kart. Ride is softer and alot more fun. I am getting 18 inch RIMS installed very soon.

I wouldn't know why the car doesn't do U-Turns anymore. Mine turns better.

What do you mean when you say "OE's too bottom out"?

Bottoming out means when the springs (aftermarket) has the maximum amount of pressure on them..which causes them to completely collapse together..causing your car to slam in a downard motion.

Is this bad for the car? Is this a normal thing with aftermarket springs?
