Last night a light on my dash came on indicating my side airbag was off. It stayed on for like three minutes then went off. Then is came on again, then went off.

It hasn't come on yet today.

Any ideas?

was someone sitting in the passenger seat?

if they weren't sitting properly that light will come on.

if no one was sitting there...take the car into the dealership.

Yeah, someone was sitting there. How does that happen?

There is a sensor in the seat that turns off the airbag if the weight is unevenly distrbuted.

if someone leans on the door it will go off because just incase u get hit on that side the airbag wont deploy if someone is leaning on it

It happened to me when I had my briefcase in the passenger seat. Took it into the dealer and they mentioned that the briefcase probably triggered some sensor which in turn shut off the side airbags.

Light hasn't come on since I stopped putting heavy stuff in the passenger seat (aside from a passenger).

it doesnt take a whole lot of weight to make the light come on. Happens each tim I pick up a pizza and soda (i put a towel under it)
