Red face Side Airbag light turned on...

Just saw that damn side airbag light go off this morning. Anyone else see this issue? Or issues with the other lights. I know how to turn the Maint. light off myself, but this one is one for the service guys.

1500 miles of '01 (first (non-design) issue).

Was someone in the passenger seat?? The passenger-side airbag will disable if the seat detects that it will potentially injure the passenger. You can test it by placing your hand over that area of the seat. You can make it disengage without even touching the seat because it can "detect" your hand there!

Well, hope this is not another nightmare for some people.

I have the "Engine Malfunction Idicator" which is the Engine Check Light on all da time. The service dept. have reset it 5 time in 5 month. Then told me to just live with it. WTF? They actually replaced the ECU computer once. Well, I heard that they will have the new ECU computer coming in April to fix this problem.

This only happens to 2000 TL as far as I know. But maybe this is something you can watch out for in the future... God I had enough with the Acura dealers...

hey sl, i have seen a ton of people coming in with the light on and having the gas cap a little loose. If it is not tightened the system is so sensitive that it will fire on. ck it out

Yeah, if you don't do the 3 clicks with the gas cap you can get that check engine light..... Even if you re-tighten it and such you'll need to reset the ECU to get it to go off (or so atleast I've been told).

My mom was in my car the other day when the light turned on. I think it was the position she was sitting, pressing against the edge of the seat. When I asked her to shift taking the pressure off, the light went off.

The side airbag on, its kinda like a defect in a away i suggest you go back to the dealer and have them adjust the sensor moved it away, they had a recall for the side airbags lite coming on too often , i went back to the dealer and they fixed that recall problem, now the lite comes on only when a passenger is leaning ,, on the side not too often like when i first bought the TL.
