Hi, everyone Happy New Year

I have a 2003 Type S, Silver and Black should I tint this car or should I let it be, I really dont want to change the line of the design of the look of the car, and I say if you do add some kind of tinting I noticed, it makes the car look top heavy if you know what I mean, it changes the look all around, what do you guys think?

Tint it, I have the SSM and it looks good. I have 35% all around except windshield, looks nice and clean-not too dark and not too light

Tint...you should tint.
I went with 75%. With the OEM green glass, it looks like 50%.
IMHO anything more and it will look "top heavy" like you said.
Mine is Black too.

For sure get it tinted 50% down to 35% will work fine.
I would go 35% or a 45% tint some tint shops only carry a few % shades. But find one that carries more than a few shades so you can get a better choice. Make sure your local laws agree with the tint that your getting so you don't have to take it off. The tint will be slightly darker on the car with the OEM factory green glass thats already on the TL. It will look about 2% darker on the car than looking at the tint chart.

just had my windows tinted 2 days ago, i have a white on tan and it looks great. i got 20% all around, and it gives it a much better look.

Tint it! I have a 35% on all five windows and still wish I had gotten 20% (against the law though). I have an ABP TLS.

If you dun wanted too dark just get 50%. Ur black interior will makes that 50% drop down to 35% or even darker.
Its definately wort the money. It protects ur car from UV and it maked it look better.
Heres my 50% on ABP. (my car is stock for now, soon will be changed)

Definitely tint it. I have 20% all around and it looks great. Plus it helps block out the sun in the summer.

That's my philosophy. I don't like it too dark also & I like subtle changes. I went with 50% on the sides and 35% in the rear. I've been tinting my cars for 20 years and the UV issue is a big one.

Don't underestimate how much tinting will save your interior - especially ebony.

Well, Thank you all so much, I made a judgement from your input on this matter, and I will be getting a very light tint on all 5 window area's, 4 door windows and 1 rear window area.

50% looks perfect, anything darker looks kinda ghetto to me and you have to worry about being harassed by the police. Yours looks perfect, not too dark, but enough to be noticable.

TINT. I have a '03 TL-S with navi and I have seen other TL-S with navi but no tint and they look not as good with ones with tint.

First thing I did to mine was tinting the windows, makes a big difference, i went with 20% on all the windows behind the drivers shoulders
and i think black on black will look excellent on the TL

I dont want it to be dark. New Jersey only allows 35%. Im going to get 30% on the 5 windows. I still want people to be able to notice how many people are in the car but not be able for people to notice exactly what I'm doing. I dont want to get pulled over. Anybody in NJ with 30%. Have you been harrassed at all.

my friend is runnin 20% right now in NJ and so far he hasnt been pulled over... his problem is that its too dark at night sometimes so he cant see... and btw, NJ law wont let u tint the front driver/passenger windows... it looks gay if u dont do it though . im gonna go for the 50% all around cuz light enough not to get pulled over hopefully and dark enough for light protection and interior protection

i know this post is old...but i was just wondering...since tinting fornt windows in NJ is illegal...would it be bad just tinting the back three?...i would tint the fronts...but i wouldnt be able to pass inspection...or do you think they wont mind to much?

You wont pass inspection in NJ with the front windows tinted. The only way you will pass inspection is if you know someone at a authorized motor vehicle inspection shop and pay them. It looks stupid with just the back 3. If your going to do the back 3 save your money it will look better. When it comes down to inspection remove the front tints and get new ones after inspection. It might be cheaper than paying someone to pass you.
