Take em off and see if they did any damage to the paint. If it did do damage, then clean off the mudguards and the clean the area and put em back on. If no paint damage keep them off and enjoy a cleaner car.

i took mine off for about a week. within that week i dropped my gf off at her house which has a loose pebble driveway. long story short i gave it to much gas and ended up with some nice scratches on the door. i was not happy. gotta love touch up paint, and i put them back on.

If you are planning to take them off for just the look, Don't do it; unless you need to add the rear and side skirt kit, then you will have to. Taking them off wont damage anything including the paint, but your car will look very very dirty, that is why it is called 'mudguard or splashguard'. imaging if you run over wet paint, or even after conditioning your tire walls.

They protect the paint on the car, so unless you want a twisted metal paint job like me, keep em on!!

Paint 'em and put 'em back on. Besides protecting the painted area to the rear of the wheels they give your TL a slightly more distinctive look. Since your paint is damaged you'll either have to touch up the body or put them back on. I would say touch up the body, paint the guards and put them back on.

More luxurious? Hmmmm... You think these cars would look more luxurious with mudflaps? Come on now.

Yeah, I can see it looks cleaner, but IMO, the cleaner look won't overweight the damages and the hassle I have to deal with the mess the tires put on the bumper and front doors; that's right, front doors too, not just the rear bumper.

If you can deal with the mess without the mudguards, sure, take them off for cleaner look.

IMO, keep it off. Of course where I live, all streets are clean and maintained with little to no loose pebbles. On top of that, it doesn't rain much where I live.

Since this topic is up.... my car doesn't have the mud flaps so it has road tar splattered up the side from being in california. The stuff is rock hard and a pain in the ass to get off. Anyone have any suggestions for getting this stuff off? Luckily my car is black so its not too bad.

Bug and tar remover, or Diesel fuel. Wash and wax afterwards

I've taken mine off, and quite frankly I don't think it looks any better. I still have the front ones off, mostly because I do think that looks slightly better. I don't really know what to think.
