Should i part out or sell my 6mt tl-s?
So guys,
its been fun but im moving on to a used S2k soon and im at ends as to what to do with my TL.
it currently needs a bit of love and i was planning on loving it up this week but im not sure if i should spend the money.
problems:
it currently has a hair over 160k but the new odo reads 181k because i sold my LED on to a member
the third gear was just rebuilt (tsb) but the reverse is difficult to get into without rowing through all the gears.
it has no radio because im taking the carputer setup
the dashboard lights and center console lights do not work when the headlights are on. it was like this when i first bought the car and i have never been able to fix it.
Recent Fixes
new slave
new clutch master cylinder
clutch is in pristine condition as i had it inspected it when i removed the trans a few weeks ago.
waiting on XLR8 85a mounts that i ordered-should i change these to 62a mounts for the future buyer?
i found out that my car isnt burning oil like i thought, the front crank seal is leaking. ill be fixing this regardless.
brand new hankook ventus v12 evos with less than 800 miles on them- i regret this the most
these tires wont fit the s
so what do you guys think i should do? keeping it is not an option as i would like the money to go towards paying off my s2000
should i part it all out or fix the probs and sell it for 5k?

selling it as is, is going to be hard considering you have to wait for the right buyer to come along for a car modded as such, which could be a huge pain in the ass.
parting it out is also going to be a pain in the ass because you have a bunch of work to do to get it done, but all in all you would at least get some cash back for it, ie 6mt swap, there are tons of people on here that want it.
if it were me, i would try selling as is first and when its coming to a deadline, then start parting out or drop the price dramatically to get rid of it.

im sure someone in the BM will pick this car up if the said problems are fixed before selling. and if not, you could provide the buyer with information on how/where to get the part(s) replaced. too many 6mt hungry guys on this forum for them not to jump on this.

If I had any income I would quickly take it for 4k and and swap the 6mt setup with my auto setup and then try to resell it for 2k or 3k. If only... Good luck phee!

I had my S2k when i was in college in Daytona Bch, FL back in 00-03 but when i moved back to NC i traded it because i didn't have a 2nd car to drive on days when there was ice and /or snow which we rarely get on the beach but damn if we didn't get it that winter and it kicked my but to go buy the 03 CL-S 6 speed. a few months later the s2k was totaled in a cold rain

sorry to hear bro. i've looked into insurance if i were to get one. progressive quoted me at 8k a year.... which is super steep considering i have no dui's mayb a point or 2 on my L's from speeding tickets, and 1 accident that was my fault. but think about it this way phee, they will only get cheaper the older they get. hopefully lol.
