aight my car needs a new front end cuz of the accident it was involved in a few days ago..

i kinda like the aggressive look of the 2002-2003 front end and im thinking about doing the conversion but i dunno.. i kinda like the 1999-2001 style too.. i cant decide

what do you think? yay or nah?

bubbly ass headlights?? They look about 100x better than the 99-01 ones, and not to mention they're much brighter and have a better HID look to them.

Do a conversion that noone has ever done before like a SL-Class conversion or something with a "A" symbol instead of the Benz logo. I think that would look sick if you had enough money to put it together.

 

I say do the conversion if your cars front end needs replacing.

About those S class and benz conversions or whatever don't you think its a bit foolish to do that. I would feel like an asshole driving by someone with an s class benz. It makes me think of people who convert GMC's to Escalades or kind of like those idiots who try to convert MR2's to Ferraris.

I understand it on the show car circuit but for an everyday driver its kinda tacky

No, if you want to spend the money, put a down payment on 02-03 TLS.
or
get the value bumper. It looks 100x better and unique. It also has fog lights.

 

Save some money and buy a TL S if you want the look and your mods can be used on TL-S ...you will have a faster ride.

 

The Type S isn't a whole lot faster than a TL-P... But yours is a 99 so it's only 4 gears instead of 5 so I'm not too sure. If you want something faster get a different car with more horsepower like the S60R 6mt.

and it's not like im gonna pay to get it done.. if the fenders, hood and bumpers have to be replaced insurance will pay for everything...

 

who said 02 - 03 headlights are brighter? i think ur pulling that out of ur ass. also, yes they are very bubbly and the grille is attached to the bottom of the car, not the hood. he will ruin any chance for a mugen grille for that big ass 02-03 grille. don't get me wrong, it's not totally ugly, i'd still drive an 02 - 03, but the 99 - 01 headlights look 100X better IMO. i guess it's just my opinion...

Justin, stick with the regular 99 TL-P bumper. That way you can always upgrade to a Value Sports front bumper or Blaze front lip or Skipper...convert to an 02-03 front bumper, and you will take away all those options. Just my 2 cents.

 

Id look at the posting in the picture forum about "my TL transformation over the years." Personally, Id do it if you have to replace the front end anyway. It probably wont cost you a thing since you were in an accident. I say go for it.......

 

i agree with what other have said...that you shuld think about the value front bumper...thats the best bumper for the car

but if you want to see an 02-03 front end...i beleive your car would look exactly like mine ....just to give you an idea

after seeing NJTLS i say do it now........he has the same wheels as you....lowered will look sharp

Justin if you get a chance post a pic of your car at a similar angle to that of njtls pic. Whens ones right above the other, then everyone can see which one is hotter................99-01.

 

 

Check with your shop about the price difference between just replacing the 99-01 front and the 02-03 conversion. The parts cost is probably the same and the labor might be a bit since it requires modding like changing brackets, etc. If the difference isn't much, go for it. If it's a lot, save the money for performance mods or something.
