shocks=? clunk noise?
latley i have noticed that when i go over a small bump in the road my front end of the car goes clunk. it seems like the whole dash is making the noise but it hard to explain but it sounds like for that split second there is a dissconect with the dash and the car. i believe that both front wheels must go over a bump if its just one wheel then it doesnt make the noise.
i have about 27,000 miles on my tl. I have comptech springs since about 10,000 miles. I also noticed that when im on the highway and going over a small groove in the road the front end just bottoms out and i can tell by the difference in ride for that split second that the shocks couldnt handle it and the bump was sent to the chasis. i dont think the stock shocks could go from driving only 27,000 miles its unheard of isnt it, even with comptech on. The overall ride is still pretty good in comfort, but i was just wondering what are some signs of the shock going?

i hear that clunk on in the back of my car sometimes, seems like its coming over the back right wheel. I have H&R Sports. Not sure if maybe the shocks are wearing?

yeah after about 4 years of driving my old Prelude with Ground Control coilovers and Tokico shocks, I got that clunking noise.
you DEFINATELY need to change ur stock shocks, and check out the ball mounts. you wouldnt believe how much more stress u put on your whole suspension by lowering the car

It's possible your front tires are over or under inflated. They should be at 35psi. That could be a factor, but if its a big rattle or shake, then you either have a blown shock over coil spring is broken.

yea im starting to have that noise on mine, but i have 162,000 miles on mine. clunking is usually bad or worn shocks. you may also want to check out the endlinks to the swaybars. if one is broken you may get a clunking from that too

I'm at 96K miles and the clunks on my car are awful, every tiny bump on the road and my cars like clunking and squeaking, even while I'm getting out of the car that damn back passenger side clunks away... so don't feel bad, you're not alone! LOL I'm planning on getting it fixed as soon as I get some extra $900 dollars for the shocks and install When the guy I bought the car from un-lowered (?!) the car to sell it, he must have messed up the suspension somehow. Then again it could all be my New Orleans driving
