Has anyone figured out a sure-fire way to get the shine back in the Burl wood shift knob? Mine looks very dull after 11 years.
I tried furniture polish but it still looks dull. I every tried some Maguires swirl remover and I don't think its better.

You may have to have it sanded down and refinished. It sounds like the clear coat has worn away.

 

Are those coated in polyurethane? Some fine grit sandpaper, then clean all the dust off with a sticky cloth, then several very thin coats of spray-on poly.
