Shift knob removal

ok so i did a search on how to remove the shift knob but still confused. There were some posts saying to twist counter-clockwise and then some said clockwise. I have a 2003 TL Type-S. How do u really get it off?

I stressed about this as well but....

Grab it tightly, twist COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, and it will unscrew.

Its been on there a while, so it will be tough. But just get psyched up, smash a beer bottle over your head and just do it!!!

i'm gonna be changing it to the chrome sphere shift knob from the is300. I ordered it on friday so i should be gettin it sometime this week. hopefully it will fit without any problems.
i got the aluminum radio and climate control knobs from hamony so the chrome is300 shift knob should definitely match the interior.

Actually, yeah. I had no trouble getting my knob off. If you're like me and you can't quite find the knob that feels best in your hand, you might want to put a little lube on the shaft. That way it's easier to get it on and off... just wipe it off with some tissues before you do anything vigorous in your car. I've gotten knobs off lots of times... you just have to use the right amount of force and finesse.

I can send some pics if you wanna have a look at mine. $30 sounds about right
