shift knob question

Was wondering if a shift knob from a 2000+ TL fit on the 99? has anyon know this? I know that the type-s shift does doen't fit on the 99..thanks.

It won't fit UNLESS you're willing to drill out the hole a little. I have a TypeS knob on my 99. I painted over the TypeS since my car isn't one.

how did you drill it out without messing up the thread?

Drill press...3/8" bit. It's a little smaller than it should be, but when you screw it onto the stalk it creates new threads.
