I have a friend who's got a 00 TL, with the woodgrain shifter, and I tried to switch with him, but it wouldn't fit.... did the size change from 99 to 00? I was kind of frustrated, because I really, really dont want to pay $100 for one, since I am most definately the poorest college kid ever.... hehe

Hey Comet, the size of the shifter shaft did indeed change from 99 to 00. The 99 shaft is wider in diameter than the 00. If you don't want the 2000 wood shifter, I'll buy it off you. let me know.

he lives in atlanta, and is selling the car this week sometime, which is why he was going to switch the shifters with me. If he doesn't sell the car this week, I'll swap with him so you can have the woodgrain, but then I'll need a shifter, since I'm giving him mine. Is there even a woodgrain shifter for the 99s?

i hate to break it to you but if youre driving a TL, then you arent poor. stop playing the, "i'm in college and i'm poor" attitude. it just doesnt work with you.

 

u can hollow out the tube.. i hollowed out my second gen wood shifter to make it fit my first gen... take a look...


best thing to use is a dremel drill to hollow it out.. if u don't got that then u can use a scissor... good luck.. it should work...

 

Yeah, ok, I'm not poor.... well, I am, my parents aren't. Its just that I dont like asking my parents for a lot of money for things that I dont need. ya know? I get this a lot, but I just dont like to be greedy with my parents, they spend about 25 grand a year for me to go here, and I really hate asking them for any more. hope you understand!

i understand your situation but it really irks me when someone on this board says they're poor and they own/lease a TL. and you are not poor if youre parents have money...dont play that BS either cause i bet that youre parents would help you out financially if you needed it. think about the really poor folk who dont have mommy and daddy to bail them out if they in a tough situation. d\so dont claim to be poor...it just makes you a poser wanting to claim that he's poor because he's in college.
