Unhappy She side swiped me....

On the Southern State heading westbound home from work this evening doing about 70 or so in the left lane when out of no where this lady in a minivan decides she would like to move to the left lane. to make a long story short she hit from the back wheel all the way to the end of the car, scrapping the beautiful satin silver grey off my bumper.

She said it was all her fault (which it was) but we'll see how this works out. The only good thing to come from this is that I had a same scrap on my bumper (near the license plate frame) from another isolated incident so now i can get it replaced without paying for it out of my pocket.

Oh well.......

That's pretty sh*tty, dude.....but at least she didn't try to blame you for the accident. Hopefully she won't try to rip you off when you ask her for the money.

Seem like drivers are getting worse and worse nowadays. Everybody is just so damn aggresive and impatient.

She didn't happen to be on a cell phone at the time of the accident, did she?

Well its not too terrible right Andrew?? You'll get rid of that scratch from your jet ski carrier. Glad your looking at the bright side although I'd still be pissed. She didnt damage the rear quarter panel did she?? maybe you can get the bumper prepainted from the factory, they sell some body parts that way.

P.S. Yup, its dropped.

haha...ya i get the new bumper taken care of. I wil post some pics tomorrow if i can. She did not hit ANY metal at all, just the bumper....you wouldn't believe how close she was to the metal though...(youll see in the pics). She almost did a pit maneuver on me (cops use it to stop a fleeing suspect by tapping the suspect car in the rear right corner with the front left of there car and give it a push which spins the sspect car out of control). I was real close to hitting the center median at about 75+. That would have been messy because I would have gotten creamed by about 3 lanes of traffic. Luckily everything was ok and no one was hurt in either car (she had 2 kids on the minivan).

We'll see tomorrow about the check!

At least she admit that it was her fault. Some people these days will argue with you and even try to sue you. My gf just lost a friend in a 2000 Accord. A truck hit her from behind and her Accord caught on fire, so she burned to death . The driver of the truck is sueing her family now .

fack.....why are people in the States so eager to sue someone? In Canada, if you sue someone and lose, you have to pay the lawyer's fee of the person you were trying to sue on top of your own. So, hypothetically, if I were to sue Coca Cola and lose the case, I'd be seriously f*cked.

Unfortunatley many people do it. I think it makes it look like it wasnt their fault if they sue you, even though it was.

Arn, glad to hear your ok. i was driving on the Palisades pkwy last week and some dude hit this girl in a jeep and spun her around and she hit another car, the guardrail and ended up facing traffic.

Sorry to here that man. You said you "cried" alot when you scraped your front left rim but you must have been "wailing" on this one. Probably would have if she smashed in the quarter panel too(I know I would). But now you get to get rid of that gouge from the trailer So there's one minor good out of it. Good luck with the repair.

When I was on the side of the road waiting for the trooper (to get a report done) my friend called and so did my father and i told them what happened. Both of them were like, 'I'm surprised your so calm'. The reason I didn't go crazy was because I was at Acura on Monday of last week for a service and was going to have them replace the rear bumper skin for about $255 for the skin (non-painted) and then they were gonna give me a quote on the install and painting. Now I get it all done for free

Now if she woulda hit my quarter panel we woulda had some serious issues

I'm still waiting for the same thing to happen to me. My rear bumber could stand a replacement after I put 2 nice scrapes in it.

People tail me ALL the time, but noone has the nerve to just take the bumper out

(this is half kidding/half serious... of course I'd rather not be in an accident, but I wouldn't be too upset if I had a rear-bumper-bender)

wow she came really close to the metal.....lucky you......I hope they match the paint ok. I had something similar and then I ended up getting into an accident, they are painting the whole car, I mean everything....so fresh paint, removed all dents(plenty of them) remove the keyed on the two doors and no mismatch on the paint awesome.

It doesn't look that bad...nonetheless it must have been traumatic for you and your car. Hope everything turns out ok. Gotta stay away from those minivans, wannabe SUVs, they think they're invincible.

Andrew, it sucks that your car got hit but at least you are going to get a new bumper and save money on what you would have fixed anyway.

Exactly...I was in the Acura dealer and about 5 minutes away from having them order me the bumper skins for the back and front (to remove the front license plate and have it look cleaner since the dealer drilled through my bumper to install the license plate frame ). Oh well...the husband called me the other day and seems as if all will be worked out ok, he works at Rallye (where i bought my car). Not at the Acura dealer but close enough

I'll keep ya updated!!

I was at the gas station last night and the girl on the other side of the pump was talking on her cell phone the whole time. Then she gets in her car and backs out straight into another car! The guy in the other car looked so pissed of when he got out of his car. Lucky for her she was a her, if she was a him, he would of gotten a major ass whipn' from the look on the guys face.

Well I got my car back today (they had it for three days) and it is amazing. I would definately bring my car to the Rallye body shop if anything ever happened. Those of you going on Sunday to the LI meet can see it for yourself
