Seriously frustrating issue
#41
i had the same issue for a while, found one bad coil and cleaned the egr, and still random misfire codes, so i put a zip tie around the throttle cable to hold the rpm's around 1200 and started pulling the plugs at the top of the coil pack's listening for a noticeable change, one of them had a slight change a lot less noticeable than the rest so i decided it was that injector, when i pulled the fuel rail i had two busted injectors, replaced them both and no CEL for 700 miles now

How do you know it was injectors? How do you it was busted i have same issue i replace plugs coils and cleaned egr Still no luck and cel shows only at higher rpm when i push the car hard. Car is running perfect has lots of power

just a guess mostly, when i was checking to see if i had another bad coil pack, i noticed a slight difference with the engine idle when i pulled the power on the #5 coil. so decided it may be an injector, pulled the fuel rail and actually had two that needed to be replaced, no cel for a couple thousand miles now

I don't know how we can do this since most of us don't have scan tools like the HDS.
A bit tricky to do, to check the injectors is this...
Remove the whole rail both sides with injectors, find a way to force fuel through the lines (a fuel injection system cleaner tool should help), then add power and ground to each injector. Check spray patterns, if it's a nice conical shape you're good. If it drips, or leaks even without adding power to the injector you will have problems.
Newer cars you could run active tests on the injectors with the car off.

start with a can of seafoam in half a tank of gas--that will restore fuel mist pattern to the injectors..if they are broken and wont open close seal right- that will be obvious
your other thread discussed valve adjust today,,,good
you said vac port seafoam 25k ago, do it again for instant cleaning of intake valves and piston tops, and the half gas tank method
seafoam suggest every 15kmiles for cleaning dose, and a maitenance dose at oil change time midyear
crud builds up inside like you cant believe
did you seafoam the oil before change--cleans out the vtec sliders and other parts
