Question Seeking advice for bushing replacement

Novice mechanic looking for advice and words of warning

I had the suspension replace professionally about 9 months ago and foolishly did not have them do the bushings as well.

primary project is to replace the suspension bushings, they creak slightly from the strain of stopping and starting.
The mechanic that did my suspension replacement just said "suspension bushings," any advice as to what specifically they meant are greatly appreciated.

1. Am I going to get in over my head and regret it

2. What part of section 18 of the service manual should I look at closely?

Thanks

# 4 & 12 on the first link.

It appears, on the second link, that if you want OEM ball joints on the upper arm and knuckle, you have to buy the upper arm and knuckle as an assembly.

Rockauto.com has upper and lower ball joints for your car. Just input your car criteria and go to 'Suspension' and then 'ball joints' and you will find what you need; however, you would probably have to have someone 'press' out the old ball joints and 'press' in the new.

When you say 'suspension bushings', are you sure he did not mean the bushings #11 & 15, as well as 12 & 16 on the link below?

Good Luck!

If you have never done any of these, you should consider doing them all...my experience in terms of level of difficulty has been; first being what I felt was easiest and just some notes on what I noticed went away when I replaced mine:
  1. end links: causes creaking over speed bumps and into driveways)
  2. upper ball joint/control arm: causes clunking over bumps
  3. radius rod bushings: shown most prominently in tire wear
  4. outer tie rod / inner tie rod (I'd recommend doing these together): steering feedback (inner) and clanking sound (outer)
  5. lower ball joint : general looseness when going over bumps.
