Seats

There are a lot of things I like about this car but the seats are not one of them. They have virtually no lateral support either on the seat or seat back. Even my Voyager minivan has better lateral support. They are also a little firm for my taste. I am considering getting sheep skin covers. Has anyone tried this? I have never put them in any previous cars because the seats didn't need them. Any recommendations for brand? I believe they need a big slit in the sides for the airbags. How does this affect the look and fit?

I agree with you on the lack of lateral support. I find myself bracing with my left foot or my knees when I make a high-speed turn. I don't find the seats too firm at all, though.

I agree with you both, I find myself driving with my left knee against the door.

I think the perfect solution would be to take the CL seats and stick them in out Tls.

Same here. I need to change my sitting position couple times in a 20 minutes drive. I found the seat in my I30t is more comfortable.

tim,

have u at all inquired about cl-s seats in a tl? when i called park ave, the nice lady on the other side quoted me 10k for the swap, with no humour in her voice. realistically, i think people would be willing to pay some "sensible" amount of money for that kinda swap. i know i definitely would.

Cool

it's a four door family sedan...you shouldn't be taking the turns that hard anyway or you should have gotten the IS300 with that fake suede or whatever it is...that's supposed to allow your clothes to stick to the fabric (sounds like velcro)

i don't have the lateral sliding problem on the CL-s

Yecch, clothes sticking to the seat? Thanks, but no thanks. Besides, what if I drove naked, huh? What then? Unless I'm really hairy on the underside... :P

I've sat (clothed) in a CL-S before, and yes, the lateral support is much better!
