Seat Clicking noise

I have had this problem since day 1 that I got the car. When I apply the brakes in the car, my seat seems to make a clicking noise. I think that the noise is coming from the part where the backrest and the seat meet, but I can't seem to figure it out.

At first I thought it was the seatbelt adjustment, so I quickly changed the setting on the height of the seatbelt and magically the sound went away...but only for 2 weeks. Then I noticed the sound was back.

Now when i adjust the seatbelt, the noise stays (totally a coincidence)...so anyhow, does anyone know what I'm talking about with this noise? and if so, how did they have it fixed?

Mine does this too. Mine sounds like a tiny amount of play in the seat slider track, as if the seat slightly moves back and forth on it's track when you press the brake or hit the gas. Does it only once in a while, so I don't care...

yah but as soon as I adjust the seat back to go up or down, the sound goes away. But it only cures the problem for about 10 min..

I had the noise as well, but it has not returned since I moved/adjusted the angle of the seat back. It's been a week now and so far, so good.

ohh just wait...I did the exact same thing, and after about 2-3 weeks it came back.

Does anyone know what causes this so that I can suggest the problem to the dealer when they fix it?

is it a defect in the actual inner part of the seat, or is it simply the seat track?

There is a post, I'm looking for it, tells you exactly what to do, I have the same problem and when I told the dealer they fix it. The problem is in the back of the seat, the dealer have to take it off and put some tape around two clamps that open and close and rub on each other every time your body press against the seat. i'm still looking for the post. I'll let you know.

Hey guys, I also had this noise in the drivers seat for a few months and it seemed to come an go with the weather and left turns. I took it to the dealer twice, before the Acura technician recalled seeing a fix for this. As it turns out, there is a tolerance problem with the seat and the internal support. There is a factory fix that adds a foam spacer inside the seat frame to minimize the contact and my "creek / click" problem has been solved.

Ask your Acura dealer to lookup SB#00-014. This worked great on my 2000 TL and the fix was free. Hope it works for you.
