Seat Belt Extensions

Does anyone know if Honda/Acura makes Seatbelt Extensions for car seats?

Booster seats in the back are impossible to clip without extending the seatbelt receiver. I called 2 Acura dealers locally and they both said Honda doesnt make the extension parts.

The bummer is that I called the Toyota dealer and they make the part, but you have to specifiy the vehicle, seat and extension length.

Anyone know if Honda makes the part or seen it before?

Thanks for the help.

Nope boosters use the car's seatbelt system and a guide to fit the child's height.

So if the seat is behind the driver you have to go around the car to the pass side to latch the belt. The extension would allow us to raise/lengthen the receiver.

Toyota has em, sounds like Honda doesn't.

Has anybody found a solution to the booster seat problem? It is a serious pain to buckle my daughter in her booster seat. She should be able to do it herself, but she can't reach behind her booster seat to strap in.

I know you can get them. Ive seen the 3rd gen guys use them to disable the seat belt warning chime.

you might have to call up acura/honda corporete office, i know years ago (like 92 or so) suzuki had to have them made in japan, and even then they only imported like 2-3 into the whole country (just to give an idea of how many there would be around), so not many will be floating around

i would not go with a universial especially whith a safety item like that; who knows if the buckles will clip together properly, only way to test them would be destrutive testing (accident possible forces), also if the belt would stretch at the correct rate for a stock belt

its a safety device, it has to pass the tests in order for it to be sold.

I called Acura and they said nope, doesn't exist as a product we make or sell.
A universal might work, but I taught my daughter to buckle herself in. The extension would certainly make it easier if anyone comes across a suitable product.

but every car has differnt belt stretch charistics for the chassis design, but does it fit PROPELY with the honda buckle and latch securly, (since every manufacter likes there own unique design for the buckle)
it is universal afterall which means it was not designed to work with one particular car but a range of cars (fyi: and that may not include honda, idk)
and it is not something i would not want to be the first to test out

also you could get one made
by buying a new seat belt witch should come with a new buckle, and then send it to one of 5 point harness manufacters and get them to sew it together then you have someone with experence in making seatbelts and know it will fit the buckle properly

or r u talking about the one that clips in to the factory buckle and extends that so the seat belt clips into the extension?

Has anyone found a solution or a reputable store to get the extension for Honda/Acura? I need one too since I have a baby cat seat for by baby and a booster chair for my son. With the baby car seat in the middle of the rear seat, it is difficult for my 7-year son to buckle himself while sitting on the booster chair.

Cheers !!!

Nope, I'm still having the same problem with my daughter's booster seat.

I bought one of those 3-inch "universal" seat belt extenders on ebay. It actually makes it more difficult to buckle up, since it takes a bit of force and the correct angle to get the buckle to snap in. So much for "universal".

The perfect solution for us would have to be about 5" long, an exact match for our belt system, and attach to the side of the booster seat so it's always in the same spot for the kid to snap in the buckle.

Buckling a booster/car seat on the Passenger side seat is easier for me than one on the drivers side; more natural.

I stuck my daughter on the drivers side since she can buckle her own now and have the youngster on the right

Not sure if I want to risk $30 for a 6-inch extender.

Here is the site: http://www.hidcountry.com/product2.php?pid=2

and who knows if it is even fully latching too

but if buckiling is that much of a trouble maybe try to pull on the buckle itself to see if you can kinda go further to the side which may give you just that much more needed room (btw not mandatory for it to go in the slot in the seat cushion, you can move it to between the backrest and seat cushion)
