Seafoamed, now ac wont work

I seafoamed the TL today. On my drive afterward I noticed the AC wouldn't come on. It doesn't sound like its even trying to kick on at all. No settings work, no air coming through. Blower not kicking on. Any help would be much appriciated. I have found a wire hanging by the master cylinder. Not sure if that helps.

If you're talking about Seafoaming the engine, the fact that the AC doesn't work is totally unrelated. It sounds more like an electricaql problem (maybe a blown fuse) if the fan doesn't work on the HVAC.

I can't see how seafoam could affect your AC....as others said, fuse check.

seafoaming had nothing to do with the ac not working. So your saying that no air is blowing out your vents? not even on vent?

I would possibly say the fan motor or the actual control unit itself. I dont have my manual here to tell me but i know there is a way to run a diagnostic with the control unit

Did it really coincide with the seafoaming?
Retrace everything you did in the engine compartment during the seafoaming, maybe a wire or something got knocked loose.

on the passenger side underneath the dash look at the blower motor, check the harness, pull it out and plug is half way, might be a bad harness, i had the same problem.

To be sure here- you put seafoam in the vac line on the driver side fenderwell correct?
There are a few connector that may have been displaced while moving the vac line free of the clips- recheck every step you took

Its worth pulling the glovebox and making sure the cabin air filter is clean and no strange debis has flown in and stopped the fan from turning
I shop vac'd that area on my car and was surprised at the amount of leaves and debris in there after only 6 years!!

if you have navi, hold down Map/guide, Menu and cancel buttons for 5 seconds and it will lead you to diagnostics menu. In there somewhere there will be a system check with the ac in it. If it shows up green that means the navi is in control of the ac meaning there is a mechanical problem

i have found the problem. the pigtail that connects the wire harness to the blower motor burned up and melted. i know the motor is still good. does anyone know if i can just buy the pigtail and not the whole wire harness. if so, any part #.

Figure out why the wire melted- bad ground or loose power lead or cut wire somewhere, the go to an auto electrics shop and buy just the part you need from them
Splice and dice from there

Any shop that specializes in auto electric repair will have a big storage bin full of each type connector made!
Just drop by and show them what happened- 2 minutes later the new connector is in your hands

So just the connector melted, not the wire?
It could be that the connection was dirty, causing resistance. Current through a resistance causes heat, which melted the connector. Make sure both sides of the new connection are clean and tight when you put it all back together.
It might also be that the motor has some shorted turns in its windings, causing excessive current and extra heat in the wire. It might still operate in this scenario, but it probably wouldn't blow as hard on high. You could compare the resistance from + to - (or from + to the mounting surface if there is only 1 wire) of the motor with a known good one to see.

i'm having a hard time finding connectors that will fit the blower. .250 wont work, too small. i have a couple that are larger, but to large. i've tried to find a pigtail, but no luck with that either. anyone with some more suggestions. i'm trying to avoid buying a new harness.

Junkyard that lets you pull your own parts?
I'll bet there is a wide variety of cars that use that same connector.

an update: i was able to track down a pigtail for the blower at a local junkyard. i spliced the wires and got the blower put back. works better than ever, much quieter and blows harder. if only i could fix the old lady the same way...haha. a $14 fix and real easy.
